El Carnaval del Toro puede considerarse el carnaval más antiguo de España. Su existencia se menciona por primera vez en documentos de 1493. Es la fiesta más importante de Ciudad Rodrigo, localidad salmantina situada a 80 km de Salamanca, y cada año atrae a miles de visitantes de todo el mundo.

 

Esta festividad gira en torno a los toros, con encierros y corridas que tienen lugar todos los días durante su celebración. Además, el carnaval incluye desfiles, concursos de disfraces, charangas, casetas y un ambiente festivo único. Es el único carnaval del mundo que combina la tradición taurina española con los elementos clásicos del carnaval.

 

ITINERARIO – SÁBADO 14 DE FEBRERO

 

10:30 a. m. (aprox.): Llegada a Ciudad Rodrigo

 

1:00 p. m.: Encierro (5 toros). Entrada gratuita

 

1:30 p. m.: Desfile de disfraces (individual y colectivo).

Recorrido: Plaza Mayor – Plaza de Toros. Gratis

 

3:00 p. m.: Foto de grupo y chupito en disco-bar.

(Se informará de la localización). Gratis

 

4:00 p. m.: Reunión en la Plaza Mayor (zona media) para las personas interesadas en la corrida de toros

 

4:30 p. m.: Corrida de toros (opcional).

8:30 – 9:00 p. m.: Salida de Ciudad Rodrigo y regreso a Salamanca

The Carnival of the Bull is considered the oldest carnival in Spain. Its existence is first mentioned in historical documents from 1493. It is the most important festival in Ciudad Rodrigo, a town located 80 km from Salamanca, and every year it attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world.

 

This festival revolves around bulls, with bull runs and bullfights taking place every day during the celebration. In addition to the bull-related events, the carnival also features parades, costume contests, brass bands, festival tents, and a unique festive atmosphere. It is the only carnival in the world that combines the Spanish bullfighting tradition with the typical elements of carnival.

 

ITINERARY – SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 14

 

 

1:00 p.m.: Bull run (5 bulls). Free entry

 

1:30 p.m.: Costume parade (individual and group). Route: Plaza Mayor – Bullring. Free

 

3:00 p.m.: Group photo and welcome shot at a disco-bar (location to be announced). Free

 

4:00 p.m.: Meeting point at Plaza Mayor (central area) for those interested in attending the bullfight

4:30 p.m.: Bullfight (optional). Price to be confirmed. Further information will be provided

 

8:30 – 9:00 p.m.: Departure from Ciudad Rodrigo and return to Salamanca

This will undoubtedly be a fun and cultural experience. We encourage everyone in the group to dress up in costume to fully immerse themselves in the celebration. Music, bars, bull runs, and a great festive atmosphere are guaranteed.
