Salamanca Erasmus Trips organiza un viaje a la preciosa ciudad de Toledo, la antigua capital de España. Conocida como la ciudad de las tres culturas – árabe, judía y cristiana -, Toledo conserva un extraordinario legado artístico y cultural que hacen de ella un auténtico museo al aire libre.

 

El viaje comenzará con una panorámica de la ciudad durante la que haremos una parada en uno de los mejores miradores. Tras la visita al mirador nos dirigiremos a una fábrica-tienda de espadas donde nos explicarán cómo se hacen las famosas espadas de Toledo. Además, podremos ver como se trabaja la famosa técnica de orfebrería del Damasquino. Desde la época medieval Toledo es conocido mundialmente por este arte de fabricar espadas. Las espadas de muchas de las grandes producciones de Hollywood han sido hechas en Toledo: El Señor de los Anillos, Gladiator, Braveheart, Robin Hood, Conan, Los Inmortales o la princesa Xena, entre muchas otras.

 

Tras la visita a la fábrica de espadas nos dirigiremos al centro Toledo donde visitaremos los lugares más emblemáticos de la antigua capital de España.

Salamanca Erasmus Trips organizes a trip to the beautiful city of Toledo, the ancient capital of Spain. Known as the city of the three cultures - Arab, Jewish and Christian -, Toledo preserves an extraordinary artistic and cultural legacy that makes it an authentic open-air museum.

 

The trip will begin with a panoramic view of the city during which we will stop at one of the best viewpoints. After visiting the viewpoint we will go to a sword factory-store where they will explain to us how the famous swords of Toledo are made. In addition, we will be able to see how the famous Damascene goldsmithing technique is worked. Since medieval times, Toledo has been known worldwide for this art of making swords. The swords of many of the great Hollywood productions have been made in Toledo: The Lord of the Rings, Gladiator, Braveheart, Robin Hood, Conan, The Immortals or Princess Xena, among many others.

 

After visiting the sword factory-store, we will go to the Toledo center where we will visit the most emblematic places of the ancient capital of Spain.
